PROGRAM DATES:
Program dates vary by year, but generally span the month of July and the University's Summer II schedule.
HOW TO APPLY:
Application for all University of Alabama abroad programs is through UA's Study Abroad Office. Specific applications for Summer 2020 are now open. Simply follow this link, enter your mybama login credentials, and off you go! NB: you will need your passport number to complete the application and, ultimately, to have your application approved. If you need additional information on obtaining a passport, the Study Abroad office can help.
COSTS AND DEADLINES:
Fixed costs for the 2020 program will be posted between October and November 2019. While program fees do not include airfare, they do include tuition for two courses, ~30 nights lodging at Worcester College, breakfast in Hall seven days a week, dinner in Hall 4 nights a week, a Bodleian library reader's card, a handful of faculty led excursions (see below), formal High Table dinners in Worcester College, and private coach transportation to and from the airport on group travel days.
Deadlines
There are no firm application deadlines until the applications close, usually around February of the calendar year in which the program occurs. However, there are only 33 available spots on the 2020 program. The sooner an application is submitted, the sooner we can accept you into the program and reserve your spot.
Deposit
A $250 deposit is required to hold a spot for you on the trip. The remaining cost of the program will be divided into thirds to be paid over the course of Spring Semester 2020.

- Only accepted (“endorsed”) and verified students can make payment deposits in order to secure their spot in the program.
- Financial Aid: Students using Financial Aid to pay for their programs are required to meet with a financial aid advisor (prior to paying the deposit) to determine how anticipated aid would apply to the study abroad program cost. Print out an additional copy of the Summarized Cost and Payment sheet for the meeting with the Financial Aid office.
- Scholarships: Students using Scholarships to pay for their program are encouraged to talk with the Scholarship office (prior to the deposit) to determine what portion of funding can be used for the study abroad program. To apply scholarship funding to your program, you must first complete the scholarship for study abroad request form in your MyBama account. For more information, please visit Capstone International's information regarding Study Abroad Financial Aid & Scholarship and the Honors College-specific Study Abroad Scholarships.

This will be determined based upon the date of withdrawal and costs incurred for your specific program. If no costs have been incurred by the University, a refund will be credited to the participant student’s account.
